Chef Gianluca will lead you through the culinary traditions of Liguria—a breathtaking region known for its exquisite gastronomic offerings, such as the world-famous *pesto alla Genovese*. You'll dive deep into the unique ingredients that make Ligurian cuisine so special, from the fragrant basil grown in sun-drenched hills to the exceptional olive oils produced in the region. Get ready for a hands-on, interactive experience where you'll master the art of working with flour and eggs—two of the most fundamental elements in Italian cooking. Under Chef Gianluca’s expert guidance, you’ll make fresh pasta from scratch, whip up silky egg sauces, and craft iconic pesto. As you work with fellow participants, you'll uncover the secrets of Italian culinary techniques and pick up tips to impress your friends and family back home. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or a complete beginner, our classes cater to all skill levels. We provide all the ingredients and equipment needed, and you'll learn to recreate the delicious dishes at home using ingredients that can easily be found at local markets. By the end of your adventure, you’ll walk away with the confidence to prepare authentic Italian dishes and a memorable experience that will stay with you for years. **We can’t wait to share the magic of Italian cooking with you!** *No prior experience necessary. Our events are fun, educational, and designed for everyone—from seasoned cooking enthusiasts to first-timers. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. The class is BYOB, and we provide all ingredients, equipment, and your first glass of drink (cocktail, wine, or beer) to enjoy while you cook. You’ll be seated with your booking party to share the experience together.* --- This revision brings more attention to the fact that the first drink is included and highlights the appetizer and dessert offerings to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for all participants.

CHEF GIANLUCA DEIANA ABIS

Chef Gianluca, a culinary maestro hailing from the picturesque island of Sardinia, developed his passion for food at an early age while spending countless hours in his grandfather's bustling market. This formative experience instilled in him a profound appreciation for fresh ingredients and traditional culinary practices. Gianluca graduated with honors from the prestigious I.P.A.S. Istituto Professionale Alberghiero Statale in Arzachena—Costa Smeralda, one of Italy's premier culinary institutions. His dedicated studies paved the way for remarkable career opportunities across Europe, where he honed his craft in fine dining establishments, including Michelin-starred restaurants and five-star hotels. Over the years, Gianluca had the privilege of working alongside some of the culinary world's most respected figures, including Gualtiero Marchesi, the renowned 3-star Michelin chef; Andre De Mechavere, Executive Chef of the Savoy Hotel in London; and Carluccio, the esteemed founder of a beloved restaurant chain. In 2000, Gianluca took a bold step and moved to New York City, where he embarked on an entrepreneurial journey by opening and managing several successful Italian restaurants and wine bars. His dream was to share the rich culinary heritage of Sardinia, renowned for its unique Mediterranean diet and status as a blue zone, with a broader audience. In 2020, Gianluca expanded his horizons even further by acquiring a winery, Feudi della Medusa, in Italy. There, he established a restaurant and wine bar, along with "Accademia Italiana del Cibo," where he dedicates himself to teaching young chefs the importance of preserving Italian culinary traditions in every dish. He has educated over 7,000 students annually in New York and has earned recognition as an ambassador for authentic Italian products. In addition to his teaching and restaurant ventures, Gianluca is the founder of Zafferano & Co., an e-commerce website dedicated to promoting and selling only the finest Made in Italy products. His reputation has led him to cater to a host of high-profile clientele, including celebrities and dignitaries such as Pepito Rossi, Dwayne Merriman, Michael Bloomberg, Luciano Pavarotti, and many others. Through his culinary journey, Chef Gianluca remains committed to celebrating the beauty of life, food, and the joys of Sardinian culture, sharing his passion with everyone he encounters.
